Summer Olympics 2008

The 2008 Summer Olympic Games, officially known as the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, is a major international multi-sporting event, which is being held in Beijing from August 8 – August 24, 2008. A total of 10,500 athletes are expected to compete in 302 events in 28 sports. These games will be the first to be produced and broadcast entirely in high definition television by the host broadcaster.

It’s pretty amazing that one event like the Olympics brings most of the world together for a few weeks every four years. The slogan of the 2008 Olympics is “One World, One Dream”, which calls for the whole world to join together and build a better future for humanity. This is a great opportunity for KGB Advertising clients’ to utilize their television ratings for their advertising needs.

Television affords the advertiser the benefits of both audio and visual, giving way to highly creative efforts, and enabling the advertiser to play on the emotionalism of the viewer. According to Nielsen, TV usage is at a record high in U.S. households at 8 hours, 14 minutes a day and even higher with the Olympics.

Thanks to this high, KGB Advertising can utilize this important part of history for direct benefits to our clients. Spread across many industries, KGB’s clients are often in the process of extensive campaigns used to spotlight their business to the public.

Southern Ohio Medical Center is one of our clients that created a television media buy that will only be running during the Olympics. The campaign will ensure that SOMC’s commercials will be seen around their viewing area, which is in Portsmouth, Ohio.
